Call for Papers – LAWCN 2025

Great news! The submission deadline for Full and Short Papers for the LAWCN’25 has been extended to July 1st, 2025!
Prospective authors are invited to contribute to the conference by submitting abstracts, short papers, or full papers electronically. At least one author per submission must be registered for LAWCN 2025.
Publication Routes


ROUTE 1: Springer Nature CCIS Book Chapter
Description:
Accepted submissions will be published as a chapter in a dedicated volume of Springer Nature’s Communications in Computer and Information Science (CCIS) book series (ISSN 1865-0929). CCIS is indexed in DBLP, Google Scholar, EI-Compendex, Mathematical Reviews, SCImago, and Scopus. CCIS volumes are also submitted for inclusion in ISI Proceedings. Criteria for publication:
- Submissions must be short (6–9 pages) or full (10–20 pages) and of top quality (evaluated by at least three reviewers).
- Manuscripts must be written in English and focus on computational sciences or their application fields, including but not limited to conference topics.

- Accepted papers must be presented in person at the conference to qualify for publication.
- Papers not selected for CCIS may be offered the option to publish via ROUTE 2 (see below).
Submission Procedure:
Submissions will undergo a peer-review process via the Meteor platform. The corresponding author must register on Meteor.

Presentation Format:
- Papers accepted for CCIS will be presented orally in 10-minute talks + 5 minutes for Q&A within a scheduled session.
- Detailed instructions will be sent to authors upon acceptance.

ROUTE 2: Online Proceedings of Abstracts and Papers
Description:
Accepted contributions will be published in the V Latin-American Workshop on Computational Neuroscience (LAWCN) Proceedings (online publication with ISBN).
Criteria for publication:
- Authors may submit their work in one of the following formats:
- Abstracts: 1 page (up to 600 words)
- Short papers: 6–9 pages
- Full papers: 10–20 pages
- Submissions may be written in English, Portuguese, or Spanish and cover any conference-related topic (including pure neuroscience studies not directly related to computational sciences).
- Incomplete or ongoing work should be submitted as an abstract, a format encouraged for studies at preliminary stages.
- To qualify for publication, all accepted submissions must be presented in person at the conference venue (see presentation format below).
Submission Procedure:
- Authors must submit their contributions directly via email to the conference submission address (see below). The subject of the mail should say: submission.
- DO NOT submit via Meteor (Meteor is used exclusively for CCIS submissions).
- All submissions will be reviewed by 1–3 members of the Program Committee for scientific quality.
- Papers deemed incomplete or of limited quality may be offered the option to be converted into abstracts.

Presentation Format:
All accepted contributions in ROUTE 2 must be presented in person and in the same language as the original submission. Presentations will be allocated as follows:
- Oral presentations (10+5 min Q&A): Reserved for high-quality papers written in English, provided there are available time slots.
- Poster presentations: Default format for all other papers.
- Abstracts: Presented as posters only.
Authors will receive detailed presentation instructions upon acceptance.
